Tone Woods we're fond of
Used extensively by Fender (TM) in the 1950's Swamp Ash has superb dynamic range with a great balance between bright and warm tones. It has large open pores that make it remarkably resonant and sweet sounding. Similar Swamp Ash bodies are more likely to differ from one another tonally than two bodies made of other materials such as Alder. And Swamp Ash looks great when all dressed up.
Lighter weight with a balanced tone, Alder is a nice choice with an exotic top or opaque paint is the finish.

Forget the excessive winding lock and roll and you're ready to tune.
