Costs, ordering and testing process

We want your XS Guitar to be uniquely yours, and the one you reach for first. 

What that means is different for everyone, so you'll not find a standard price list here.

We wont offer something we can't make great.  

Currently we are only offering Solid Body Electric Guitars.

Arch Tops, Semi Solid Bodies, Acoustic models, and some off-the-wall experimental instruments are all in the works.

NOTE: We Will NOT put our name on a guitar made with inferior components.   In addition to our Base-Price (listed below) you should expect $800 to $1,200, or more, in material fees. 

These fees generally include: 

• High quality body and neck woods (Swamp Ash, Alder, Torrefied, AKA Roasted maple, are among our favorites.)
• Decorative face wood (Quilted, Flamed, Burled, Ambrosia or Birds-Eye Maple, Koa, Ebony, Cocobolo, The list is long. 
• Quality machine heads (Tuners) We like Schaller or Fender locking tuners but will consider other quality brands.
• Bone nut
• Dual Action truss rod
• High end fret board,  Rosewood, Ebony, Maple, Cocoabolo...  Constant or compound radius options.   
• Quality fret wire
• Matched top quality pickup sets. You pick the tone you like.
• High tolerance pots and switches
• Quality hard tail or tremolo bridge
• Positively tight output jack 
• Copper cavity tape
• Top quality push-wire 
• Pickup rings and volume / tone knobs to your liking
• Paint and finish to your liking. 

Once all the decisions have been made, your guitar will be designed, cut, shaped, assembled and given a quick setup before we invite you back for it's test drive. 

During the test drive you'll get a feel for what's great and what we need to make it yours.  If the neck is uncomfortable or the action is not to your liking, we'll make all the necessary adjustments before we start the finish process. 

Then comes the hard part - You wait!  

We don't finish on too humid or too dry days. 

When the finish is done, then... You wait some more.   

Everything is put under tension where it sits for at least three months.  

When we're comfortable the neck, fret board and body are happy living together, and under string tension, it gets it's final setup. 

Frets are re-leveled, dressed and polished. 

Billy gives it a final test drive and reports back any minor tweaks before it becomes yours.
